Very few people are talented or special enough to go by their first name only. But with the right dance moves, infectious dance beats, daring style, a killer body and sweet vocals, Ciara has managed to become a name that demands your respect.

JonesMag.com recently sat down with Ciara to discuss her Fall wardrobe, her favorite collections from New York Fashion Week as well her new album “BASIC INSTINCT.”

JonesMag.com: How was Fashion Week for you?

Ciara: It was great. Unfortunately I thought I was going to see more shows. I didn’t get to though. But I did get to see Betsey Johnson and I really enjoyed her show.

JonesMag.com: What are you looking forward to buying this fall?

Ciara: Definitely leather, I’m really into leather. I love a nice leather jacket. I love leather from Balenciaga. I recently bought a pair of Miu Miu leopard pumps. I also got a Emilio Pucci jacket and a leather Hermes croc bag.

JonesMag.com: How would you describe your personal style?

Ciara: Urban chic. I like to keep it urban with a test of high end.

JonesMag.com: How does Ciara during the day differ from Ciara in the night?

Ciara: In the day, I’m much more casual. I’m more of a chill Ciara. I’ll wear a nice pair of doc marten boots or a pair of Jordan’s. I’m more likely to wear a cropped sweatshirt or a pair of high waist jeans. In the night, I definitely love to switch it up. I’m definitely going to be in a pump. I’d love to be in a thigh high Christian Louboutin boots with a hot leather jacket. I’d rock with a Givenchy piece as well.

JonesMag.com: What color will be your color for the season?

Ciara: Red. I mean, I really love black. Black is classic and I usually gravitate towards that. But I am adding some color this fall. I love red.

JonesMag.com: Finding the right denim is hard for women of color. What denim do you love?

Ciara: I really love J brand. I really like denim with stretch. I also am really into high waist denim.

JonesMag.com: Who are some of your style icons? Some of the people you look to for inspiration?

Ciara: I’d have to say Jennifer Lopez. I really like her style. She’s always very consistent. Lover her style, she’s definitely a trendsetter. Other than that, I really like to watch other people for their style. I am very inspired by street style.

JonesMag.com: Tell us about your new album.

Ciara: It’s called “BASIC INSTINCT”. I worked with THE DREAM and Tricky Stewart. This album, more than any of them is for my fans. I really went back to basics on this album. It’s definitely very “bossy”. There’s a lot of attitude on this album. I’m hoping my fans will love it and that I will gain new fans as well.
