This is literally the dumbest thing ever for Ciara: This has been done to her like 7 times before with And I, That’s Right, Go Girl, Never Ever, Work, Speechless and Gimmie Dat. Those 7 songs started to gain some radio airplay and then Jive decided to release the video first and then months later as singles and no one cared because they had already heard the song and saw the video. I can already see Turn It Up flopping on the charts which is sad, because it’s a great song. Jive should have Turn It Up released now, You Can Get It in March, Heavy Rotation in May, Yeah I Know in July, Wants for Dinner in September and I Run It in November, that’ll be 6 singles over 12 months, I doubt Bey, Brit and Gaga will release 6 singles this year, maybe 4 for each of them. Ciara needs to be all over radio and TV and all overseas throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America promoting Basic Instinct, if Basic Instinct hasn’t gone Gold by June, I’m so sorry to say, Ciara’s career will never ever recover. There is no reason why Turn It Up is being released in March, Hold It Against Me is not that great of a song, only the beat is great. Maybe it’s just me, but I am so fucking tired of seeing Ciara being mistreated by her label and the way it seems is that she’s just accepting any they do to her.

Hmmm I think this a somewhat a bad move but at the same time Rihanna is releasing s&m, Britney just released HIAM and lady gaga is releasing her single in feb so most of the mainstream attn will be around those singles so I think it’s kinda of smart to release it while nothing else is coming out. Usher is still doing his tour so how would he perform the single? Plus isnt American Idol live shows start around march and April and the same with dancing with stars. Turn it up can only be performed with both Ciara and usher so the reasoning of it being delayed is because of ushers schedule

I see some of you don’t understand how radio impact dates work. An adds date is not when they send the song to radio it’s just a date for when the radio stations all add a song. The singles will be sent to radio before then. Just like with Ride the add date was almost a month after the video had been released already but station had started playing it before then. For example Chris Brown No BS has an impact date for this January on rhythmic radio even though it’s been out for months.

March is a good date because she will probably have some airplay before then and the video out as well. Stop worrying and complaining all the time.

As fans we should be requesting the new singles because some stations are starting to play Turn It Up and You Can Get It before the official add date.

Stop complaining start requesting!! We won’t get new videos or singles if the fans don’t support. Ciara needs our support

I think Fantasy Ride was what messed up her career. I mean, I really liked the album, but it wasn’t memorable. It had some good song that could of been singles, but that’s it. I think people to day are looking for an album with about three smash hits, with the rest being either smooth and re-playable R&B ballads and club-type dance tracks. Thats what made goodies so success, it had “Goodies”, “1, 2 Step” and “Oh”, but also had those classic R&B songs from the album. And the evolution was the samme, but eith some extra dance tracks added. Fantasy Ride had singles, but no classic smooth R&B. I think it may have been too comercial that people saw it as a compilation and just bought there favortie songs individually.

Basic Instinct has what it takes to be a hit, I just hop they promote “Turn it Up” and “You Can Get it” and the album itself. It has nice singles, smooth R&B and club dance tracks.

Also, Lady Gaga’s the Fame debuted at 17, selling 24,000 in its first week. It the fell to 59 in its second week and stayed in the 70s and 80s for like ten weeks. However, when its singles became hits, peoiple listened to it, and it has now sold 3.9 million in the US. They can do something like that for Basic Instinct, maybe platinum. Gaga’s debut single “Just Dance” debuted at 92 on the hot 100 and stayed in 80-50 for like ten weeks. Then when her label finally promoted it and gave it a video, it peaked at number 1 after spending 2 weeks on the chart. They should give “Gimmie Dat” a mainstream release, and I really hope that they promote and push “Turn it Up” and “You Can Get it” at radio
